Alfa Romeo 6C Concept Imagines A Modern Disco Volante

Unfortunately, it won’t arrive at your Alfa dealer anytime soon.

Sometimes, independent automotive designers can create truly amazing works of art. Alex Imnadze is an example. You may have seen him in the Apple Eve concept that we previously featured. A concept of epic proportions has been conceived by the Turin, Italy-based designer. It’s called the Alfa Romeo 6C DiscoVolante and it’s stunning.

It is possible to recognize the name from two sports cars legends, the 6C, which made its debut in 1925 and the Disco Volante in 1952. You may recall that the Geneva Disco Volante concept was also used to reinterpret the former.

Let’s dive into this detailed drawing of the 6C DiscoVolante to provide context for the creative concept. The car’s sporting DNA is highlighted by the unique silhouette it gives off with the tapered rear, carved sidewalls and an endless hood.

Performance is always an issue, but Imnadze didn’t forget the “traditional” attributes that come with a car of this type. The rear view shows a huge diffuser, while the front features hood scoops. The Alfa’s shark-like appearance is also due to the emphasis on the wings at the front and rear.
