There is no roof, but still plenty of power.
Alfa Romeo’s five year strategy includes 26 new or updated models. Two more highly anticipated debuts are the 8C sportscar that produces 700-plus horsepower (521 kilowatts) and the GTV Coupe, which is based on the Giulia Quadrifoglio. This lineup could not only include hard tops.
According to U.K.’s Car Magazine the GTV will be available in two versions. The coupe with fixed roof will be available in 2021. The Spider will arrive 18 months later, in 2022. Both cars will be placed underneath the 8C, which is more powerful, and they will share the Giorgio that supports the Giulia and Stelvio .
The Alfa GTV will be powered by the same turbocharged, 2.9-liter engine that powers the Giulia Quadrifoglio. The GTV will be able to produce 600 horsepower (447 kW) and a pure electric range for 30 miles (48 km). Standard features include all-wheel drive and space for four.
The 8C may not get the same topless treatment. It will have a monocoque carbon fiber chassis and can travel at 62 miles an hour (100 km per hour) in under three seconds. The 8C will be available in 2022.
The Alfa Romeo range of products will continue to include new products such as the Giulietta and new C- or E-segment cross-overs. Unfortunately, the new GTV will not arrive until three years later, but this rendering gives an idea of what we can expect.
