The boss of the brand suggests that it may draw inspiration from an Alfa Romeo classic model.
The 4C has been discontinued by Alfa Romeo, leaving the brand without a sports car. However, Jean-Philippe Imparato, brand boss, suggests that this could change in the near future. He suggested that limited-run models might be in consideration.
“For now, I am focusing on value creation, pricing power and residual value. However, at the same, we are also working on possible one-off or few-off [projects]. “We have so many ideas,” said Imparato to Autocar. According to the publication, he mentioned Tipo 33 and Duetto as possible inspirations.

“I can’t give you anything concrete right now, but I can assure you that I don’t forget our past or our passion. I’m focusing on the business and electrification is the elephant in my room. While we need to set the right priorities, we also have to work in parallel on these projects.
Alfa Romeo’s 2018 product plan included the introduction of the GTV, and 8C by 2022. After merging FCA and PSA, the automaker cancelled those performance models.
The GTV would be a stylish coupe. The hybrid-assisted version was expected to produce 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts). There were rumors that a convertible version would eventually join the lineup.
The 8C was a supercar made of a carbon fibre monocoque. The front axle would have been driven by an electric motor, while the engine would be mounted behind the driver. The output was expected to exceed 700 horsepower (522 kW), potentially as high as 800 horsepower (597 kW),.
The product plan included a replacement of the Giulietta as well as a crossover to place above the Stelvio. Both were expected to be on the market by 2022. However, neither one of them ever made it to the market.
