Alfa Romeo Tonale Quadrifoglio Already Ruled Out?

Alfa may be playing it safe with the new compact SUV.

It is rare for a brand to back down in a performance fight with another go-fast brand. Alfa Romeo their Quadrifoglio performance arm is known for creating some very fast cars. You may have noticed the four-leaf clover emblem on the fenders of a vehicle. Stelvio and Giulia You’ll see that they mean business. As if big wheels, more prominent diffusers and aggressive aerokits weren’t enough to tell you. The following is a list of Alfa Romeo’s US lineup. 4C It is the only one that doesn’t have the Quadrifoglio spec. The upcoming Tonale will not get the same treatment.

Alfa Romeo Tonale Quadrifoglio Already Ruled Out?

The Italian website of Autoblog states that Alfa’s new compact SUV hybrid will be available for purchase in Europe in the first quarter 2021. It also claims that the production model will be available in late 2020. Preparations are already underway at Alfa Romeo’s Pomigliano d’Arco factory. Considering the global health crisis, it appears that they will stick to their initial plans to get Tonale on the roads as soon as possible. Rumours also suggest that the Tonale will not be offered initially in a Quadrifoglio performance trim. This is because the Italian manufacturer “rethinks its commercial objectives” and wants to attract premium customers who appreciate Italian design and a highly efficient product. This is part the FCA Group’s plan to be profitable without taking too much risk with their latest products.

The Alfa Romeo Tonale, which shares the same platform with the Jeep Renegade, will produce up to 330 horsepower when it reaches its highest trim. The second SUV from Alfa Romeo, the Tonale, will feature a 48V electric motor that powers the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Alfa Romeo has not commented on the rumors. We will have to wait until the end of this year to find out more.
