The BMW M2 Coupe was revealed less than two weeks ago and has already attracted the attention of Alpha N Performance, an aftermarket specialist.
Although deliveries of the first M2 are still a ways off, this tuner has provided a preview of their M2-RS upgrade package. This will increase the turbo-charged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine’s series 370 PS (272kW) to series 480 PS (353kW) through the use of a chip-tuning system and a water injection system.
The car’s power will be significantly improved by this massive power boost. Therefore, the sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) will take less time than the standard M2 with the six-speed manual gearbox (4.3 seconds with the seven speed DCT). BMW has an electronic speed limiter of 155 mph (250 km/h), but Alpha-N Performance may be willing to remove it to unlock the car’s full potential.
The M2 can have an adjustable coilover suspension, and a more aerodynamic carbon fiber body kit. This includes a four-position adjustable rear wings. The tuner claims they are currently working on a carbon fibre roof. A Clubsport version will also include lightweight race seats, a half- or full-length roll cage, and lightweight 19-inch OZ Superforgiata wheels with 245/35R19 front tires and 265/35R19 back tires.
