Two doors could be added to the new B4.
Alpina’s B3 family offers performance comparable to the BMW 3 Series. It also has a diesel engine-powered version. Although we have not heard anything about the successor to the B4, it appears that the German automaker is working on a modified 4 Series. Although nothing is yet confirmed, there are early rumors.
One post on the BimmerPost forums claimed that Alpina would introduce a new B4 in the early part of next year. There seems to be some surprise. The model will be based upon the G26 generation 4 Series, which is the Gran Coupe model. It’s the more luxurious four-door-coupe-large-grille version of the 3 Series, to put it that way. Although no exact date has been set, BimmerPost states that the model will launch on the 440ix specification. It uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged, inline-six engine that is mild-hybrid and produces 382 horsepower (285 Kilowatts) as well as 368 pound-feet (499 Newton meters) of torque. This engine, coupled to an eight-speed auto gearbox that sends power to all four wheels and accelerating the four-door coupe to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.4 seconds, propels it from standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h).
Alpina introduced the B3, a tuned 3 Series, in October 2019. The engine produces 462 horsepower (345 kW) as well as 516 lbft (700 Nm), of torque. When the B4 Gran Coupe arrives on the European markets next year, we expect similar results. The new Alpina B4 Gran Coupe will initially be available only on the Old continent. However, things could change over the next six months.
