Although the VW Beetle is shortened looks Photoshopped, it’s actually The Real Deal

Your legs are now the car’s crumple zones. . . Front and rear.

We know what you are thinking if you love the 1980s cartoon Transformers. This yellow Volkswagen Beetle represents the animated Bumblebee in a more real-life, honest-to-goodness way. This was not a regular Beetle but a microcar version. This, my friends, is what we have.

The people at 1320 Video This crazy creation was found in Qatar. Crew was at Qatar Racing Club when they spotted the Beetle in the pits. They had to go and check it out. They found a fully functioning VW that was still driving its rear wheels and the engine in the back. You wouldn’t know the shenanigans going on in the middle if you looked at the car from either the front or back. These screencaps show that there are indeed shenanigans.
We don’t know much about the build. The car was purchased pre-shrunk from eBay by the current owner. He didn’t even believe it was real until it was delivered. The car’s center section is missing. If you look inside, you will see that the seat on the Beetle’s back bench is missing. It is custom-made, so there isn’t much space inside. It’s difficult to squeeze through these tiny doors.

It looks great and is a joy to drive. It should also be lighter in weight than the stock-looking VW engine, which will have less mass to carry around. The car isn’t comfortable enough to drive at any speed. Its short wheelbase makes it lurch back quite a bit when the clutch is released. The engine should be in the back so it doesn’t overturn during hard braking. We think.

It would be a great robot if it could.
