Amazing Aluminum V8 Engine Block Pen Holder

A engine block that fits your desk. That’s cool.

V8 engine blocks are a great choice for car enthusiasts. They are compact and versatile, making them ideal for many uses, including as a pen holder.

Grant Takara came up with the idea for this pen holder, and launched a Kickstarter campaign to make a CNC-machined V8 aluminum block pen holder. It could be used on your desk.

Based loosely on the Chevrolet Takara uses a 5-axis machining machine to make the aluminum eight-hole pen holder for its LS3 engine block. It measures 3.7 inches (93 mm) in length, 3.1 inches (80 mm) wide, and 2.3 inches (59 mm tall). Based on the photos, it could fit Takara’s hand.

Takara offers Acetal Liners for Cylinders in three different diameters to fit various pen sizes. To protect both the desk and pen holder, there are four rubber feet you can attach underneath the aluminum block.

The V8 engine block pen holder has two options. The one with a machine finish is the best, and the other has bead blasting. This gives you the look of a V8 engine block, as seen on muscle cars.

Takara, a mechanical engineer, who has been CNC-machining since 2012, needed pledges of $5,000 to get the project off the ground.
