Regular Motor1.com users will know how much Lego is loved by them. While there are many exceptional kits available, we are always impressed by the fan-made LEGO Ideas . We are absolutely in awe of the fit, finish, as well as the details on this one. This is a stunning piece from all angles. If Lego made it, we would buy it in a heartbeat. We’ll be talking more about how you can help to make this happen.

This silver bullet is an Auto Union TypeC race car that dates back to the 1930s. Auto Union drivers were the first to sport Audi’s iconic four-ring badge. The Type C’s mid-mounted, 6.0-liter supercharged V16 produced 520 horsepower (388kilowatts). This was 1936, when roads were mostly dirt and 100 horsepower cars were rare.

This Lego version does justice to the legendary race car. This faithful replica is reproduced in 1:18 scale. It includes a detailed cockpit, removable engine cover and the large V16 underneath. Alexandre Rossier designed and built the replica. He sent Motor1.com an email stating that it took him 50 hours to complete. It is made up of 2,300 bricks and has removable body panels that allow for more detail inside. It has a radiator at the front and a gearbox at its back. The tubular chassis even remains period-correct beneath it all.

The project gets extra time once certain milestones have been reached. A project that has 10,000 supporters will be reviewed by Lego to determine if it is worthy of a Lego kit. This Auto Union currently has 1,289 supporters. It earned that 515 days ago.
