America's Next Postal Truck by Karsan is Being Tested Again

A hybrid powertrain could be used to power the vehicle.

The fight for the U.S. Postal Service vehicle continues. The battle for the new U.S. Postal Service vehicle continues as a new prototype from Karsan’s proposal is being tested again. Although the vehicle is quite different from anything else on this site, it is still very important. Karsan’s model is among five bidders for a contract with USPS. The agency is seeking to replace the Grumman Long Life Vehicle trucks that have been used as standard delivery trucks since 1987. It is currently evaluating entries from Karsan and AM General. Oshkosh Corp., Mahindra and a partnership between VT Hackney, Workhorse Group. The winner contract will be announced by the end of the year.
