They may even make the car in the USA.

Rumours about an Apple car are not going away. The latest rumor is that Apple could be close to a deal with Hyundai in order to put the vehicle into production. According to Reuters citing South Korean newspaper Korea IT News, the partnership could be completed by March and the car will enter production in 2024.

Although neither company has commented on the rumor, information generally matches a recent report about a partnership between Apple and Hyundai. Negotiations were still in the early stages of negotiations at the time. Hyundai however confirmed that talks were ongoing.

Korea IT News reported at first that Apple and Hyundai planned to either construct the new car in Georgia or build a factory in the USA with a capacity for 400,000 vehicles annually, with approximately 100,000 coming from this joint venture. According to Reuters, however, the paper removed this information from its story later, suggesting that these claims might not be true.

Recent rumors have been swirling about the Apple car. A early report suggested that the model could debut this year. Reuters claims that a preview of this vehicle may be on display in 2022. So maybe there is some substance to the earlier information.

Later, it was revealed that Apple had employed former top Tesla engineers to work on the project. This report said that the model would be available in five to seven years, which is a much longer time frame than any other rumors.

We don’t know much about the Apple car. Since a combustion engine is not compatible with what it means to be cutting-edge, it’s likely that the Apple car will be an EV. To meet customer expectations, advanced software is also required.
