This is your chance to buy a truck of tomorrow.
Today is your chance to buy one of the two Innotrucks ever made. The Siemens sponsored this design study, which was led by Luigi Colani, a designer who designed and constructed their vision of the truck of tomorrow. The Innotruck was created with a focus on efficiency, modernized design. This unique example is now available for purchase via a listing on the JamesEdition web site.
The futuristic truck designs of Luigi Colani and Siemens were presented to an international crowd at MobiliTec in Germany. Innotruck redefined what a tractor-trailer could look like by introducing aerodynamics to improve efficiency and an eco-friendly drivetrain.
The trailer’s cab is integrated into the cab, allowing the drivetrain and trailer to be accessed from below. The cockpit is reminiscent of a fighter plane and has a lot of glass, which allows for maximum visibility. The cockpit is connected to a lovely living space that caters to long-haul truckers. The glass canopy opens and the driver can climb in to the cockpit.
The cabin is connected to the drivetrain using driveby wire technology, allowing for easy integration with the trailer. Electric motors are powered by a diesel engine that has been converted to extender duty. This powertrain is the most efficient and can still haul goods over long distances.
Although the Innotruck’s radical design made it to full production, many of its principles and ideas are slowly making their way into large trucks. Today you can own this rare piece of history. What is the cost? If you ask that question, it is likely you can’t afford it. The pricing information can be requested from the JamesEdition Site.
