Are You Ready for the Ford Maverick? Production may begin very soon
Ford confirms that it will be coming this fall.

Ford already has 36,000 orders and counting to purchase the 2022 Maverick pickup. We might now know when Mexico production begins. The Maverick Truck Club forum has a post that shows how manufacturing began on August 16, 2021.

Motor1.com reached out to Ford to confirm the date. We are not sharing the production start date at the moment. Hannah Ooms, spokesperson for Maverick, confirmed that the Maverick would be available in the fall. The forum users speculate that the Maverick could not be widely available at dealers until 2022. Ford builds the vehicles first for reservation holders. If a buyer makes a change between placing an order or taking delivery, there won’t be many units available in showrooms for quite some time.

The Maverick starts at $19,995 plus a $1,495 delivery charge. The mid-range XLT costs $22,280 and includes features such as cruise control, alloy wheels, and power side mirrors. The $25,490 Lariat is the highest-spec model. It comes with leatherette trim and ambient lighting. The 2.5-liter hybrid engine makes 191 horsepower (142kilowatts).. For $1,085, buyers can also add the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with 250 horsepower (186 kW), and 277 poundfeet (376 nton-meters). For $2,200, the turbocharged engine can be ordered with all-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive-equipped XLT and Lariat are available with an off-road-oriented FX4 package for $800. Additional equipment includes 17-inch wheels with all terrain tires, front tow hooks and hill descent control, skid plates as well as a trailer hitch, heavy-duty radiator and an engine cooling fan.

The Maverick is $42,385 if you are looking for every feature and accessory. This includes many extras such as bed lighting, tonneau covers, toolboxes, and much more.
