The company has put on hold the first supercar in Albania and is now focusing on hypercar territory.
Some people are not driven to achieve their goals. Qendrim Thaqi’s dream is to build the first supercar in Albania. His project, the Illyrian Pure Sport was presented before. However, it seems that Thaqia and his Arrera Automobili firm had to cancel this project in order to make room for something larger.
Introducing the SD+. Arrera Automobili provided us with a few images of the hypercar in Albania, as well as details about its powerful engine. First, have a look at the renderings below.
Let’s start with the powertrain. The hypercar was designed and built exclusively by Wolfgang Kizler. It is powered by a V8 engine of 7.0-liter capacity with 90-degree pistons. The hypercar’s power output is 1,800 horsepower (1.342 kilowatts) with 1,106 pound-feet (1.500 Newton-meters), pulling a weight of less than 2,712lbs (1.230 kilograms). Arrera stated that they are confident of breaking the record for being the fastest hypercar in the world.
Thaqi also designed the Illyrian Pure Sport and the SD+, which is entirely made of carbon fiber. According to Thaqi, he was inspired by Formula 1 and the aero bits. Every part of the hypercar’s exterior serves a purpose, especially for aerodynamic efficiency.
The emblem at the back, which acts to rapidly push out hot air from your engine compartment and allow cool air in for the oil pump, is a great example.
Interesting nomenclature is also available for the Arrera SD+. Skanderbeg is an Albanian military commander. D stands for 500 (Roman numerals), which would be 500 km per hour (3110.6 miles per hour). The plus sign (+) signifies that the plan is to exceed the speed mentioned.
Arrera stated that the SD+ would be revealed in metal next year. Let’s see if the claims for the first Albanian hypercar are true.
