The Rapide remains one of the most desirable sedans, almost a decade after its debut.
Aston Martin is putting on quite a show at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, considering that the DBX SUV prototype and the Vantage Heritage Racing Edition are joined by the Rapide E. We also saw the adorable Honda E go higher.
The official images of Rapide E released by Aston Martin in mid-April show that it looks nearly identical to the model with the conventionally engined motor which has been around since the start of the decade. This would be a problem as not all modern cars age gracefully. However, the Rapide looks amazing almost ten years after its debut.

AM must have thought that “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix” about the car while it was removing the 5.9-liter V12 engine and gearbox to make way for a 65-kWh pack of carbon and Kevlar-covered batteries. They feed two rear-mounted electric motors that produce 601 horsepower (448 Kilowatts) combined. This gives rise to a mountain-moving instant torque output of 950 Newton-meters (701 pounds-feet).
These Rapid E sedans won’t see much as production is limited to 155 units. This car will sprint from 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than four seconds. The 50-70 mph (80-113 kph), task that takes between one and half and two seconds, will be very fast. It will also go more than 200 miles (322.2 km) without any additional charges.
