Not your average car collection.

Aston Martin can have many meanings. Some people associate the Aston Martin DB5 with Bond films. Others see them as a force in endurance racing. The British automaker looks back at the source of their success, including their recent WEC LMGTE Pro world championship.

The Legacy Collection features three GT cars that were part of the brand’s endurance racing success, the Vantage GT4 car and V12 Vantage GT3, as well as the V8 Vantage GTE. Each of the three cars are made from a new chassis and ready for racing with the iconic sterling green livery and yellow accents. You may wonder, first of all, why a GT4 vehicle would be included in a collection with racing greats. The Vantage GT4 was actually the first race car built around VH-era architecture. It made its debut in 2009. Aston Martin Racing produced 107 examples until the new version took over in 2018. This is the 108th and final car to be rolled out of the workshop.

The V12 Vantage GT3 may be more popular with Keen readers. It made its debut in 2012, and was a great success. It was not only one of the most successful V12 GT cars but also won the British GT championship in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Aston Martin was determined to keep the V12 alive despite the fact that many manufacturers have given up on turbocharging. It won the British GT championship in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2018.
David King, President of Aston Martin Racing said, “This trio of Aston Martin Racing Vantages is the ultimate tribute to an era in which Aston Martin was a leader in international sportscar racing.” While Aston Martin’s current generation turbocharged V8 Vantage has won numerous world championship titles, it is still a favorite among racing fans.

Although only six V8 Vantage GTE V8 Vantage cars were made, they were incredibly popular. It was the fastest car to win the FIA World Endurance Championship, winning seven titles and two LeMans wins. The seventh and final car in the collection, the GTE, chassis number 007 is featured. This collection of AMR racing cars celebrates one of the most successful periods of British automaker’s racing heritage. We are not sure what the price will be, but these beautiful cars will certainly set you back quite a bit.
