Did it reach the 195 mph limit at all?
The Aston Martin Vantage has been the best-selling British model. It was unveiled in 2017 as an all-new model and the successor to a 12-year old model. The Vantage is a buyer’s entry point to Aston Martin’s lifestyle. This is substantiated with a 50/50 weight distribution thanks to its rear-wheel-drive, front-engine layout.
Even as an entry-level car, the Vantage isn’t slow. The Vantage is powered by a Mercedes-AMG The sports coupe’s M177 twin-turbo V8 engine is capable of producing impressive numbers, including 503 horsepower (375 KiloWatts) as well as 505 pound-feet (685 Newton meters) of torque. This is a beautiful marriage of power and beauty, and a worthy successor to the Vantage.
The new Vantage was first introduced with a speed of 195 mph (314 km/h) It’s not bad, especially considering the six-digit price tag. However, can the Aston Martin sports coupe achieve this rating in a real world test?
Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds posted the video at the top of this page. It features its 15,000 foot (4,572m) of concrete and 2,000 foot (609.6m) of asphalt. This top speed run was made with a tailwind at 30.6 Celsius (87 degrees Fahrenheit).
The total top speed ran was 2.3 miles (3.7 km). These numbers, along with brief weather conditions, will the Vantage be able to reach its claimed top speed of 2.3 mi (3.7 km).
