This could be the V12 Vantage’s return.
Aston Martin is working on a more powerful version of the vantage. Our spies have confirmed that the engine does not sound like the Mercedes-sourced 4.0-liter twin turbo V8. This leads to speculation that the Vantage could have a V12 engine.
The vehicle has a V-shaped cover with openings at the tip of its hood. This indicates that there is an updated panel beneath with multiple vents or inlets. If there is a large V12 under the engine, these holes could allow heat to escape from the engine bay. Depending on the design, they could also be used to bring cool air into the intake.
The lower fascia has a new outline that features sharper edges. There are also new vents at the corners. These are likely to circulate air to the brakes and keep them cool.
Aston Martin also adds extended flares to the rear. The exhaust pipes are moved to the middle of the rear by the company. Because the exhaust holes are still visible at the outer corners, it appears that the rear fascia is a placeholder.
Aston Martin stated that its V12 could fit in the current-gen Vantage. However, the automaker was concerned that the large mill might have affected the vehicle’s balance.
The brand’s twin-turbo, 5.2-liter engine is expected to power the V12 Vantage. It produces 630 horsepower (470 kilowatts in the DB11) or 715 horsepower (533 kW in the DBS).
The new V12 Vantage is not yet known. The hotter model is still possible to arrive in 2017.
Aston Martin has confirmed that the next generation Vantage and DB11 will get fully electric powertrains. They will arrive in 2025. The company has yet to say which EV will be first.
