Both are extremely fast.
SUVs have evolved from being versatile off-roading vehicles to powerful machines that can light up drag strips. These high-riders have been a constant development. The popularity of these high-riders has had an impact on the sales strategies for some auto manufacturers.
The Lamborghini Urus SUV is one of the most powerful you can buy. A stock Lambo, which is powered by the same DNA as its supercar brothers, can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds. Its weight and ability to hold up to five people is impressive.
Another SUV that is extremely fast is not powered by gasoline but uses batteries. The Tesla Model X, specifically P100D with Ludicrous Plus, can sprint the same distance as the Urus, but at 3.1 seconds.
A drag race between these two is inevitable. This video is from DragTimes. It’s the third time these two have met at a drag strip. The race today is different because both drivers have made modifications that could affect the outcome.
The Lamborghini Urus’ twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8 is still in use. However, 1016 Industries tuned it for an estimated 725 horsepower (541 KiloWatts). This is 75 horsepower more than a stock Urus would produce and enough to propel the beast of 4,850 pounds (2,200 kilograms) off the line in record time.
The Tesla Model X is not configurable. However, the owner reduced the weight of the vehicle by 200 pounds (around 90%) by removing the storage at the front.
We won’t spoil what happened between the two SUVs, but it was close. You can watch the video at the top of the page, and then let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
