The Audi A3 Cabriolet According to, the 2020 model year will see the American market disappear. Driver and Car. The sedan body will be the last remaining entry-level model of the brand in the United States.
The A3 isn’t a particularly strong seller for Audi USA. The company has sold 5,650 units for the year of the entire line, which includes the Cabriolet, through July 2019. In the first seven months, the volume fell 52 percent year-over-year.
We know from spy shots that Audi is working on a new generation A3 in the sedan and hatchback body styles. The five-door model is unlikely to be brought back to the United States. However, the four-door with its trunk should. We don’t have any photos yet of a convertible.
The new A3 appears very familiar from the photos. The front gets the most design changes, with a wider grille and jagged headlight shape.
You will notice the differences more on the inside. The tablet will no longer be an eyesore, but will integrate more seamlessly into the dashboard.
The A3 will be riding on the most recent version of VW Group’s MQB platform. This will allow for improved interior packaging, and perhaps a lighter vehicle.
According to current information, the A3 hatchback will debut in Europe at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The sedan might not be available in the U.S. until 2021 model year.
