While the next-generation Audi A4 development is ongoing, the Ingolstadt-based automaker has not forgotten about the outgoing model. It is still available in North America, Europe and China. The compact premium vehicle receives some visual updates for the new model year. This could be the last year it will be on the market before the new model arrives in showrooms.
These tweaks are more specific to the Allroad Quattro, the family’s off-road-inspired wagon with four-wheel drive. It can also be ordered with the Black Optics Pro Package for 2022. This package is specifically designed for the compact, long-roof Audi and offers customers additional customization options.
The new visual package adds a gloss black look to various parts of the exterior including the windshield frame and exterior mirrors. The vertical elements of radiator grille, clips in front side intakes, rear bumper diffuser and tailgate panel between taillights are also covered with the same gloss-black layer. Gloss black is also used to finish the Audi badge and A4 Allroad lettering on the back.
Few other small touches complete the rugged wagon’s new look. Black roof rails are available and a bumper is also available in Manhattan Gray Metallic. These extras can be added to the same package and are available in Europe for EUR775 (or $806 at current exchange rates). Two new colors are also available to complement the model’s existing color palette: District Green and Chronos Gray.
The current Audi A4 Allroad Quattro can be purchased with either a turbocharged gas or diesel engine, depending on where it is being sold. The United States only offers one engine option, a 2.0-liter turbofour with 261 horsepower and mated to an automatic seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The next generation model will feature combustion power before purely electric power is introduced towards the end. Audi also gave the Europe-only A1 Citycarver the A1 Allstreet title.
