Under the camouflage, you should have new bumpers, doors and fenders.
Audi unveiled the 2019 model year for the A4 sedan/wagon in Europe in June 2018. It received a minor facelift, but it was still a very attractive vehicle. Six months later, spy photos were released of the A4 Avant in preparation for a second refresh. It will be more important, at least in design, this time.
The entire lower body of the prototype is hidden as you can see from the attached gallery. There’s a good reason. The A4 Avant’s roofline, windows and door openings will remain the same, according to our spy photographers. However, the doors, bumpers, grilles and fenders will be changed. The car’s overall shape will be preserved, but the body will have a more modern and sharper appearance due to the new parts.
Although the massive exhaust tips embedded into the rear bumper may make you believe it is the performance RS4 model, the simple bumper design and shape of the pipes reveal that it is the regular A4. The A4 will still use the same turbocharged gasoline or diesel engines, so there are no significant changes in performance. They will be modified to comply with the latest emission standards.
The interior will also receive major improvements according to preliminary information. This includes the latest version of Audi’s infotainment and digital instrument cluster. The new HTML6 will provide some of the revised or new functions.
We expect to see the refreshed model by the end of next-year, given the recent launch of A4 Avant and A4 Avant 2019. The brand with four rings will most likely use September’s Frankfurt show to present the model to media and potential buyers.
