Audi A6 Avant by ABT: Diesel Tuning Still Ahead

To complement the wagon’s new appearance, the 3.0 TDI receives a healthy power boost.

An interesting report was published in September 2017 about Audi’s plan to install a diesel engine under the hood of its next-generation S6 (and S7 Sportback). The Ingolstadt warm sedan is still not revealed as of February 2019. The S6 has been spotted out and about without any camouflage so an official reveal is likely to be in the future.

The German tuners are for you if you don’t want to wait for the wraps on your car and/or you worry that there won’t even be a TDI-powered S6.

Audi A6 Avant by ABT: Diesel Tuning Still Ahead

The “ABT POWER” logo plaque is on the engine cover. It’s a sign that the six-cylinder engine has been reworked to produce more power. The Audi TDI engine produces 282 horsepower and 620 Newton meters (457 pound-feet), but ABT has managed to get 326 hp (and 670 Nm) from the engine. The tuner was able shave two tenths off the time it took to sprint from 62 mph to 100 kph thanks to the diesel punch.

ABT has created a subtle aero kit to go with the A6 Avant luxury wagon. The family hauler’s front end features an extra piece that includes a spoiler blade in glossy black and a strip with decorative details. The back diffuser is a glossy black shade that highlights the fact that this is not an ordinary 5 Series Touring version.

The styling touches include the custom 21-inch alloy wheels with 255/35 R21 Continental tires and the blacked out Four Rings. On the inside, there is an ABT-branded stop/start button, as well as door-mounted LEDs that project the logo of the tuning company.
