Expect a debut sooner than expected.
Audi presented its A6 Etron Concept a year ago with smart liftback styling, a range exceeding 400 miles and smart liftback styling. Concept is what you see in the sentence. However, a production version should be available this year. It may happen sooner than expected, and it might just bring an electrified Avant along for this ride.
We are aware that an A6 Avant E-Tron will soon be available. Audi teased it via social media, with a unique long roof shape hidden in shadow and calling it the A6 Avant E-Tron Concept. The teaser promises that the reveal is “coming soon”. A social media post that followed showed close-up images of the electrified wagon.
Do we mean weeks or even days? It’s possible that the wagon will follow the lead of last year’s A6 E-Tron Concept, which broke cover on April 19. This is especially true when you consider the 2022 New York Auto Show. The event starts on April 15. If a debut is made prior to the show, it would fall under the category that is about to be revealed.
What can we expect from the A6 Avant E-Tron Concept concept? Audi is credited with keeping the rumor mill quiet, so we can borrow the A6 Avant E-Tron liftback to speculate. The concept vehicle claimed a 100-kWh battery pack. Audi claims a range of more than 435 miles using generous WLTP standards. It also delivers a combined 470 horsepower (350kilowatts) via dual motors for Quattro All-Wheel Drive.
These stats seem to be a good starting point, we think. Audi’s teaser directs viewers to a special website that features the A6 E-Tron Concept. This is obviously not an accident. The Avant E-Tron’s profile is certainly sleek. If it has the same impressive range as the liftback concept and even modest electric horsepower, then it could be a family-friendly alternative for SUVs. It’s something we can’t wait for to see.
