Audi E-Tron S Electric Crossovers Get 496 HP

Buyers have the option of choosing whether to get the E-Tron Sportback or the more boxy E-Tron.

The Audi E-Tron S coupe-inspired E-Tron S Sportback are here to boost the performance of the brand’s electric crossovers. These models are performance-oriented and offer 496 horsepower (373 kilowatts) for eight seconds during Boost Mode. This is in contrast to the models’ 402 hp (308 kW) or 490 lb (664 Nm), respectively. The S is rated at 405 horsepower (320 kW), and 596 lbft (808Nm), while the regular models have 355 hp (265kW) or 414 lbft (561Nm).

The E-TronS variants have an extra power source in the form of an electric motor added to the rear axle. This brings the total to three. Torque vectoring is also possible with the pair at the rear. The crossover is driven by the motors at its back during normal motoring. The motor at the front is only used if the driver asks for more power or if the rear wheels lose their traction.

The E-Tron S models are capable of reaching speeds of 62 miles an hour (100 km per hour) when in the S gear, with all motors spinning. This can be achieved in just 4.5 seconds. They can reach a electronically limited top speed limit of 131 miles an hour (210 km per hour).

The models are equipped with an adaptive air suspension for maximum driving comfort. The system can adjust the ride height depending on the drive mode. It can do so up to three inches (76 millimeters)

The Four Rings don’t distinguish the S models from their predecessors. The front bumper has a larger fascia and a diffuser at the rear. The fenders are 0.9 inches (23 mm) wider. Audi comes standard with 20-inch wheels, but buyers have the option to choose up to 22 inches.

The interior is the same as the E-Tron models. Standard features include electrically adjustable sport seats and S badges. Buyers have the option of choosing thicker bolsters and air-conditioned seats with perforated Leather.

Audi has not yet provided any information regarding delivery or pricing for the E-Tron S models. Based on the rest of the brand’s lineup, it is safe to assume that they will be more expensive than the current versions.
