Audi introduces new bi-turbo diesel engine

Audi plans to offer a bi-turbo diesel engine in the A6, A6 Allroad, and A7 Sportback. It generates 313 PS (309 kW / 309 HP) and 650 Nm (479 Lb-ft).

Audi plans to offer a bi-turbo diesel engine for the HTML6, HTML6 Allroad, and HTML7 Sportback.

The engine has a displacement of 3.0-liters and produces 313 PS (230kW / 309 HP) and 650Nm (479 lbft) respectively. The engine is linked to an eight speed tiptronic transmission and a quadro all-wheel-drive system, which allows the A6 sedan accelerate from 0-100 km/h within 5.1 seconds (5.3 seconds for A6 Avant/A7) and reach a top speed 250 km/h (155mph).

The engine’s power is still manageable thanks to its start/stop system and “innovative temperature management system” that quickly heats the coolant and oil to operating temperatures. These measures result in an average of 44.1 mpg UK (or 6.4 L/100 km) and CO2 emissions of just 169 grams/km.

The sound actuator transforms the typical TDI exhaust note to a more powerful roar, which is similar to a high-performance petrol motor.
