This year, the fully electric E-Tron Sportback as well as Q2 L E-Tron will be available.
Audi spoke today at Neckarsulm’s Annual General Meeting about 2018’s “unsatisfactory performance” and its plans for 2019. Recall that deliveries fell by 3.5 percent last year compared to 2017. One of the main reasons for this decrease was the switch from NEDC and WLTP, which hampered product availability.
What is Audi’s plan to get in shape again? It will introduce a lot of models. We have confirmed that the fully electric E-Tron Sportback, and the China-only E-Tron Q2 L E-Tron will be released for 2019, but are more interested in the Audi Sport performance cars. For 2019, there are nine S models and four R and RS models.
Let’s start with the letter S and work our way down to identify the models for the year. The S8 is likely to be available in the coming months. It could also be joined by the S7 Sportback, the S6 Avant and the S7 Sportback. It is possible that the HTML3 might also make it to the market this year. These models were all spotted in testing, with little or no camouflage. This is usually a sign that a reveal is imminent.
A slideshow by Audi Spain displaying the product roadmap this year showed that the Four Rings will launch RS7 Sportback during the third trimester. The RS Q3 as well as the RS6 are slated for a release in late 2019.
Audi Models to Increase in 2019
Keep in mind that Audi has suggested the return of the rear wheel drive R8 but it is too early to predict when.
Audi does not specify whether the 2019 S- and RS-badged launches include the ones that have been already revealed, but will not go on sale until later in the year. We are referring to the RS5 Sportback and R8 facelifts, TT RS Facelift, as well as the newly unveiled TDI.
