It will only be 50 examples.
The stunning Audi PB18 etron concept has been approved. It made its debut at Monterey Car Week 2018. Bram Schot, Audi Global CEO, stated that the all-electric supercar would be available sometime in the next few years. However, only 50 examples will go into production. Color us excited.
The details of the production version are not available. Three electric motors drive the PB-18 concept. They produce 671 horsepower (500 kW) total and 612 pound feet (830 Newton-meters), of torque. You can also choose to get a 764-hp (705-kW) boost. According to reports, the concept can reach speeds of 62 miles per hour (100 km per hour) in just 2 seconds. Let’s hope that this impressive performance is carried over to production.
Audi is promising a futuristic, solid-state battery that can deliver a range of 95 kilowatts per hour. Although the technology is still in development, it would allow the PB-18 to travel approximately 310.7 miles (500 km) using the current testing scale. The battery can be charged with an 800-volt charging system in 15 minutes. Wireless charging is also possible.
The PB-18 concept’s greatest feature is its interchangeable driving position. The McLaren F1’s steering wheel is located in the middle, but unlike McLaren it can be moved left or right depending on the driver preference. We are not certain if this wild option will be available in the production model. However, it does look cool on the concept.
The price and the on-sale date remain a mystery. The concept seems road-ready, at least from the outside. Production models should be in the near future. We hope.
