Audis are in high demand.
Audi announced at the beginning of November 2017 that it would launch a new model every three weeks for 2018. It means that there will be 17 models this year, according to the math. Ingolstadt is releasing a facelift, next-generation cars or first-ever models on a regular basis to drastically improve the portfolio and compete with Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
The Q8 flagship SUV, A1 Sportback and the slightly updated TT have all been seen recently. Now is the time to see the new-gen HTML3. First, Audi released a teaser image showing some of the crossover’s metal in advance of a world unveiling scheduled for Wednesday, July 25.
The short video, which includes many spy shots and a recent render , confirms that the redesigned Q3 will adopt the new styling language of the SUV brand. It won’t make a big difference to the previous model, but the Q2 was the entry-level Audi SUV. The new model appears to be more modern.
Volkswagen’s premium brand keeps the interior a secret, but our spy photographers took a photo of the prototype cabin a few months back, which you can see below.
Another set of spy shots has shown that work is well underway on the hotter SQ3 or RS Q3 versions. The former will arrive in 2019, while the latter most likely will debut in 2020. The regular Q3 should be available for purchase before the end of the year. The switch to MQB will result in a weight loss. However, we feel the crossover will be slightly larger to differentiate itself from Q2. The usual suspects will be available, including a 1.5-liter TSI engine and a 2.0 TDI with various tunings. A plug-in hybrid should be available with an electric range of up to 31 miles (50 km).
Audi may drop additional teasers about its revamped BMW X1 rival between now and Wednesday.
