A tuning package is now available for the electrified Audi that was created by the makers of the crazy RS6 Avant hybrid with over 1,000 horsepower. Meet ABT’s in TFSIe specification. This is an upgraded version of Ingolstadt’s luxury plug-in hybrid SUV that packs more power than ever.
Audi is taking its sweet time releasing an RS Q5, so there are people looking for other options. There’s the SQ5, but it comes with a diesel engine in Europe, rather than the gasoline one found in North America. ABT is here to help. They’ve taken the Q5 55 TFSIe, which has a powerful engine (not the most appealing name). The combined output of the Q5 55 TFSIe model is 362 horsepower (270kilowatts) & 500 Newton-meters (369-pound-feet) respectively. This brings the total power to 420 hp (406 lb-ft) and 550 Nm (420 kilowatts).
Massaging the combustion engine, specifically the turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline motor, produced power gains. Although the Kempten-based tuner didn’t discuss the SUV’s performance it is clear that the extra oomph has benefits in terms acceleration. The standard Q5 55TFSIe can do the 0-62 mph (0-1100 km/h), in 5.3 seconds. This might sound impressive but it’s not. The Q5 55 TFSIe is a heavy car that weighs in at 4,475 pounds (2.030 kilograms) and can be driven by anyone.
Audi Sport’s performance brand, Audi Sport, has said that faster SUVs will be available soon. ABT’s product will appeal to people who want a more powerful Q5 but are also looking for a plug-in hybrid version that is extremely efficient.
ABT provides a power package to the Q50 TFSIe. This increases the output from 295 HP (220 kW), 450 Nm (332 Lb-ft), to 353 HP and 500 Nm (369 Lb-ft). The electrified SUV will take less time to complete the sprint than the standard model, which takes 6.1 seconds.
The power packages include custom 20-inch wheels in a gloss or matte black finish, and a diamond-machined wheel flange. ABT will add interior upgrades at an additional cost. These include LED entrance lights, a custom start/stop button cover, and a revised shift knob to the dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission.
