The Audi R8 is our favorite car. Whether it has been facelifted, the naturally-aspirated supercar from V10 remains the most sought-after car to wear the Four Rings. Although it will be a sad day, the Lamborghini Huracan will continue to be available for purchase. Here’s some amazing footage from the Alps shot with the R8 pre-facelift in the Plus specification with optional Performance Parts.
Motor1.com friend Audiography has returned with new content. This is possibly his finest work. This fully loaded R8 is finished in Suzuka gray metallic paint. It also has all the additional components developed by Audi Sports for its flagship model. The aero kit, which was developed in the wind-tunnel for maximum efficiency, helped the high-performance coupe to generate 551 pounds (225 kilograms) at 205.1 MPH (330 KPH) or 220 Lbs (100 kg) less than the package.
To keep weight down, all the extra goodies are made of carbon fiber. The canards and splitters are very light. The 20-inch black wheels look great and save 18 lbs (8kg) over the standard alloys. A titanium Akrapovic exhaust system is also included in the upgrade list. This allows the V10’s 5.2-liter engine to play more smoothly.
The video gives you a chance to experience the R8’s performance. It took only 2.82 seconds from standstill to reach 62 MPH (100 Kph) and 9.66 seconds from 0 to 12 MPH (200 kph). That’s fast.
Now, we are patiently waiting for the R8’s facelift to be revealed on video. We are hopeful that Audi’s fastest car, the R8, will continue to be around well into the next decade. And we’re hoping for a third generation.
