This is going to be a very hot hatch.
There are new rumors after seeing spy shots of the next-gen Audi RS3. According to Auto Express, it will debut in September 2021.
The RS3 is one of my favorite Audi Sport cars. It is a significant part of Audi’s DNA. “You can be certain that we will continue to bring forward the best aspects and characteristics for every future RS models,” Audi Sport Sales and Marketing Chief Frank Michl said Auto Express. The 2.5-liter turbocharged five cylinder engine of Audi will be used in the RS3. The engine now produces 415 horsepower (310 Kilowatts) as well as 369 pound-feet (599 Newton-meters), of torque. It would be equipped with a dual-clutch transmission, but there is no indication of a manual. The latest Quattro all wheel-drive system would be available with torque vectoring and other features to improve the hot hatch’s handling.
We can see that Audi has taken a more conservative approach to the styling of the new RS3. The new RS3’s front fascia is more aggressive, with a wider fenders and a rear diffsuer. These parts are not so large that the average person would be able to see the vehicle’s potential performance.
Rumours have circulated that Audi could create an RS3 Performance model with 450 horsepower (336 kW). The Four Rings would be able to boast the Mercedes AMG A45S with 416 HP (310 kW), and 369 Lb-ft (500Nm).
The European-focused Sportback hatchback variant of the RS3 will debut in September. The sedan version of the RS3 that will be coming to North America is still unknown. The four-door S3 won’t arrive in the US until late 2021 so we don’t anticipate seeing the range-topping variant before 2022.
