RS4 Avant mule spotted sporting fancy RS gear, such as bigger wheels and better brakes.
These are the first spy shots of an Audi RS4 Avant mule that were captured during a test run.
This car is based on the Audi S4 Avant, but has some RS4-like modifications.
The larger RS5 wheels and RS logos on front brakes make this mule look higher than a standard S4. To accommodate larger air intakes, the front bumper was also modified. The S4 exhaust is still at the rear, but underneath the car there is something more. We aren’t sure what it is.
It is possible that it will be a modified version of the 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 that was rumored to have been in development for the RS6 or RS7 versions. It will be rated at 600 PS (or 592 bhp) for those two models. The RS4 may have a lower output of around 450 to 500 PS (or 367 kW).
It is difficult to predict when the RS4 will be due. We can only hope that Audi will do the same with the RS4 after putting the RS6 onto an expedited development track in 2012, as Audi did for the RS6.
