Audi RS6 could have 650 HP and a Sedan version

It should be available in 2019 or early 2020.

It’s been less than a month since Audi unveiled its new HTML6 at Geneva Motor Show. But the internet is buzzing with rumors about the upcoming S6 or RS6 models – in this instance, the latter. According to a new report, the station wagon may also be available as a sedan. It could have as much as 684 horsepower (484 kilowatts) when it debuts in 2019.

Autobild reported the news, suggesting that markets such as China and the United States could be prime candidates to receive a four-door Audi A6. Audi could be using a similar strategy to rivals like the BMW and Mercedes-AMG E63. The former is also available in a wagon.

The new RS6 could have as high as 650 hp if it is equipped with an additional performance pack. The base model should produce around 605 hp (451 kW), which is still a substantial 45 hp (33 kW), increase over the current base RS6. In its standard trim, the RS6 generates 560 hp (417 kW), but with optional performance it can produce 605 hp (553 pound-feet) and 605 hp (617 kW).

Rumours suggest that the same biturbo V8 of 4.0-liters found in cars such as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo or Lamborghini Urus will be under the hood. The RS 7 might get a more powerful hybrid option, but we don’t think the same technology will be available for the RS 6.

We take all of this information with a grain. The new Audi RS6 will have a lightweight, all-new design and a powerful V8 motor. The S6 of lower trim, which was seen testing in Germany, will only be available with the V6 engine options (both diesel and gas).
