Some people don’t love wagons. What if Audi brought back the RS6 Sedan.
The 2003MY model year was the last to have the RS6 (C5). It is also the only RS6 that was available in America, and it was only sold in small numbers. The 2020MY will see it return as an Avant, to compete with the Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon and Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. What if Audi sold the Avant along with a sedan to compete with the BMW M5 XTomi Design created a hypothetical RS6 Sedan from an image of Ingolstadt’s super-wagon.
We heard a juicy rumor about Audi bringing back its sedan body design for the next-generation RS6 more than a year ago from German magazine Auto Bild. It was believed that the RS6 Avant would be a hit in the United States and China. However, with Audi introducing the RS6 Avant to North America, it is hard to believe that a sedan will still be on the horizon.
This is especially true when you consider Audi will likely introduce a car very similar to the RS6 Sedan within the next few months. The RS7 Sportback is one of five RS-badged models that will be available until the end. It will essentially be a more compact RS6 Sedan with a more practical hatchback body. There are two M5s and one M8 Gran Coupes at BMW, and Mercedes has the E63 Sedan / Wagon, and the AMG GT Four-Door Coupe. So why not?
We believe variety is the spice in life. If you live near an Audi dealer, we would recommend the RS6 Sedan. It would be much cheaper than the RS7 Sportback. The next rendering is based on the 591-horsepower wagon by Audi Sport. It has the same headlights and front bumper as the RS7 Sportback and the massive grille.
We are betting on the RS4 Avant, RS Q3, RS Q3 Sportback and the RS Q8 for other RS models that will debut in the coming months. The RS Q8 was seen in a very brief period. It is likely to be launched in the United States of America.
