Audi SQ5 Reduced by ABT to the Point It’s Now a Hatchback

The ride height is dropping, but power is up.

Bavarian tuner ABT has been playing with the Audi Q5 since its inception and has offered an upgrade package for the most recent generation. The aftermarket experts are now revising the Q5’s temporary top dog to offer more upgrades to those who can’t wait for Audi Sport to release the RS Q5. ABT started with the exterior. They have created a more aggressive and wider body kit. This makes the SQ5 look even more dominant in rearview mirrors. The SQ5’s back has seen many changes. It now features an exhaust system that is carbon-covered with real tips, replacing the chrome-plated housings on the standard model. The crossover emits a sportier feel thanks to the quad tips and pseudo diffuser. This spoiler is also prominently mounted on the roof.

There are many alloy wheels available. They range in size from the 20-inch set to the massive 22-inch, making the Audi SQ5 appear sportier. ABT’s masterpiece is the coilover suspension with springs. This allows owners to lower their crossover by up to 60 millimeters (2.4 in) to make it look more like a large hatchback than a car. It’s not only for show, but it also improves handling. The tuning package would not be complete without modifications to the turbocharged 3.0-liter engine V6. This has been tuned for a powerful 425 horsepower (313 Kilowatts) as well as 405 pound-feet (505 Newton-meters). This is an increase from the previous series 354 HP (260 kW), and 369 Lb-ft (469 Nm).

This new force must have reduced the sprint time of 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) from the stock SQ5’s 5.4 seconds. Audi has an electronic limiter that will kick in at 155mph (250 km/h). ABT has not released any images of the interior. However, it states that some trim pieces, such as the start/stop button, have been covered with real carbon fiber. The tuner logo is also projected onto the ground when you open the door.
