Audi SQ5 upgraded by ABT via scenic route for photo shoot

ABT offers the next best thing to the RSQ5 so why wait?

ABT Sportsline offers a complete upgrade program for the Q5. The original November 2017 unveiling was followed by a re-evaluation in February. Now, the sped-up crossover has traveled to a beautiful location for a similar photo shoot.

Auditography chose Kempten, Germany to immortalize the Glacier White Metallic model equipped with all the bells & whistles of ABT. We also see the RS4_ tuner, which was posing for the camera in the exact same spot at the end last month. The tuner upgraded the SQ5’s turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine as it was with the wagon.

The hot crossover’s standard version produces 354 horsepower and 369 pounds-feet (369 Newton-meters) torque. ABT, however, can produce a hefty 425 HP and 405 lb/ft (550 Nm) respectively. Stock SQ5 can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.4 seconds. But, the tuner will cut half of that time to get it below 5 seconds.

The aftermarket experts have created a more aggressive body kit with quad exhaust tips to match the added muscle under the hood. To enhance the SQ5’s sportiness, the package includes larger wheels and a lower suspension kit.

Sporty? The crossover can be seen effortlessly hitting 62 mph (100 km/h) and then going up to 150 mph (242 km/h) without breaking a sweat. The acceleration test was likely to have taken place on the Autobahn’s unrestricted section. This is the same area where the facelifted Porsche 911 GT3 RS reached 186 mph (300 kph at night).
