Although enthusiasts may be drawn to low-slung coupes that offer impressive performance, sales are what usually determine trends. We have to admit it, you don’t get the same fan base as say, a Porsche 911. Golf GTI Or Honda Type Rm Boy racers don’t die, so a well-built and equipped sports car won’t help you drive sales up. The best-selling crossovers and SUVs have been in recent years. Mainstream buyers prefer a car that is practical and has decent ground clearance.
Audi’s TT The German automaker has had better years than its spreadsheets and now it appears that they are planning to revamp their image with an electric crossover.

Auto Express has revealed in an exclusive that Audi’s top brass have confirmed that work is underway on the next-generation Audi TT. The next-generation Audi TT will be a coupe with an electric powertrain. After considering a hybrid or sportback, the Audi TT was finally developed. It was a simple decision to go electric, with electrification already being rapidly-tracked by the Volkswagen Group. Auto Express reports that Audi sold 8,756 coupes and 3,362 roadster TTs globally in 2019.

As of this writing, it also has a working title: the Audi ettron. Audi was able to make such a dramatic change because of the VW Group’s wide variety of electric vehicle platforms. The flexibility of these platforms will allow for multiple versions of the Audi ettron, each with a different level of performance. It will fit in a smaller position than the AudiQ3 but it will be much lower in height. Interiors will also be said to have fewer switches and dials and more touchscreens and digital display.
