All items, from Ferrari 458s race-spec Ferraris to helmet dryers, will be sold to the highest bidder.
If you are looking for a complete turn-key racing team with cars, then Auctions America’s Auburn spring sale in Auburn, Indiana next month is the place to go. The company will sell the Level 5 Motorsports assets in a huge, no-reserve sale that includes 350 lots. Each lot will be owned by a new buyer.
This isn’t just about cars and parts. Level 5 Motorsports was known for its large-scale involvement in racing. It was backed by Scott Tucker, a payday loan shark. Tucker and others were criticized by a Nevada judge for their deceptive practices. We mean that we charge people high interest rates for short-term loans, then hide the operation by referring to Native American tribes which are subjected to different federal regulations.
Tucker and his company were then ordered to pay $1.2 million to the Federal Trade Commission. And that’s not all. Tucker’s criminal trial is scheduled to start later in the year. If convicted, Tucker could spend the next 20-years behind bars.
Tucker’s loss will be your gain, to cut the long story short.
There’s a lot to be gained. Level 5 Motorsports participated in many racing events, including the Grand-Am, American Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team redefined extravagant. This means that in addition to 11 race cars, including five Ferraris and five IMSA racers and a 996 porsche2, there are plenty of add-ons to help many race teams. There are plenty of tools and spare parts. But bidders also have the option to purchase laptops and tire warmers, portable generators and scooters. They can also get massage tables (yes, massage), two race trailers and pedestrian barriers. You can also find enough Ferrari parts (including complete engines) to make a new car.
All items are available at no cost, so make sure to have your credit cards handy. We are already focusing our attention on the “assorted Turbos” lot because everyone has to have assorted turbos in his garage. Take a look at our gallery or visit the Auctions America link to see details about each lot.
