It does not appear that anyone sustained any serious injuries.
Road rage is a real thing. It can also be dangerous and even fatal. It’s dangerous enough to get angry behind the wheel of a 3500-pound vehicle, but some people go further and brandish a weapon when they are in a fit of anger. One driver caught the terrifying incident on their dashcam.
Reddit user, u/DexFPV, uploaded the video to r/IditosInCars. The video begins with the SUV or truck moving through an intersection onto a Texas highway. The third-generation Infiniti G35 speeds through the frame, pulls in front, and then slams the brakes. The camera car maneuvers around Infiniti G35 and speeds off. However, the Infiniti is not done yet.
The video speeds up at this point as the driver tries to lose the Infiniti. It reaches nearly 100 mph (96 km per hour) The Infiniti appears in the frame and pulls away from the truck. The driver clearly holds out an axe from the window as the Infiniti crosses several lane. The Infiniti driver speeds up and cuts across the highway in front of the truck.
The Infiniti driver doesn’t pay attention and the car drifts into the lane in front of a slower-moving vehicle. The Infiniti driver applies the brakes but it’s too late and the car collides with the backend of the other vehicle. As the car slows down, debris explodes all over the highway. It appears to have hit a bridge post and is now veering off the highway.
The Infiniti continues to cruise down the highway flashing its lights as the dashcam driver pulls in to assist the other vehicle that has been damaged. The poster claims that the driver of the hit car was talking and walking after the accident. A poster stated that the police had found the vehicle in an AutoZone parking lot, but the driver fled.
This video does not show the events that occurred before the Infiniti driver cut off the other vehicle. Road rage is not the solution. It makes it even more dangerous when drivers fail to see what’s in front of them.
