This year, the Volkswagen Touareg celebrated its 20th birthday. While it is no more available in North America it remains the brand’s most popular SUV in other parts of the globe. In 2018, the third generation Touareg was officially introduced. Now it is time to refresh the model mid-cycle in order to maintain demand.
The most significant changes will be concentrated on the front fascia, as you can see. The radiator grille will be reshaped to give the Touareg an updated lower section. This will allow for a more dynamic appearance. Although the headlights will likely remain the same shape, new internal graphics may allow for a more visual connection to the chrome trim on fascia. The front bumper will have larger corner vents. This will complete the design changes.
The taillights will be the only exception to the 2023 Touareg’s resting state. These renderings show that the light clusters at its back might get new graphics to communicate better with the headlights.
The Touareg’s upcoming facelift will be minimal in terms of visual changes. Interior changes could include new trim options and a wider range of materials. A range of gasoline and diesel engines, as well as power with plug-in, will be available in the engine department. The efficiency of turbocharged combustion engines could be improved by mild-hybrid technology.
The Touareg appears to be in the initial stages of a facelift. We don’t anticipate the development to take longer than a few months due to the nature of these changes. This means that a debut could be made before the end the year.
