The rebuilt engine has only 9,000 miles.

The Ford Lotus Cortina, or simply Lotus Cortina, was produced in the U.K. from 1963 to 1970. It was a joint venture between Ford, and Lotus. It was hoped that the two companies would produce a sports car worthy of the track.

Walter Hayes was the original inventor of the idea. He approached Colin Chapman after learning that Lotus founder, Cosworth, had inserted a Cosworth-tuned Ford 116E five bearing into a Elan. Ford initially called for 1,000 engines specifically designed for the Cortina. The rest is history, two generations later and 7,400 examples.

In the world of classic cars, history isn’t always history. This case is no exception. This lovely Lotus, is available for sale on eBay in U.K. with a complete restoration and a factory Ermine white paint job with Sherwood Green Stripes.

This car has been fully restored 15 years ago and covered 9,000 miles. It also comes with matching numbers. The original 158cc twin cam engine, which was originally designed by Keith Duckworth of Cosworth, is under the hood.

The interior still retains its original look with black leather seats and a wooden-trimmed shift knob and steering wheel. The dash is beautiful in jet black, and all original gauges remain in good working order.

This stunning example is a must-have for Ford and Lotus collectors.
