It can even take your temperature.
Since its inception, Bentley’s sales boom has been driven by the Bentayga. For example, take 2021 when Crewe’s luxury marque set an all-time record with 14,659 cars. This is 31% more than 2020. The SUV, now even more luxurious, was responsible for a third of this volume. The Extended Wheelbase adds 180 millimeters (7.1 in) between the axles, allowing for outstanding rear legroom.
This substantial growth has resulted in a wheelbase of 3,175mm (125 in) and a total length of 5,322mm (209.5in). The Bentayga EWB has full-size limousine levels of legroom, thanks to the additional growth in the rear doors. The SUV’s extended length is enhanced by the Airline Seat feature, which boasts “the most advanced car seat ever made.”
The rear seat can be adjusted in no less than 22 different ways. It can also recline up to 40 degrees when the Relax mode activates. To increase legroom, the footrest is electrically moved forward from the rear passenger seat. Switching on Business mode will move the seat to an upright position if you need to work comfortably while on the move.
The high-tech climate control system is another option. It can adjust the temperature of the occupants and the humidity level in the back to automatically change the settings. The pressure across the seat surface can be analyzed for automatic postural adjustments. Over a three-hour period, there are 177 pressure adjustments that can be made across six pressure zones.
The Bentayga EWB can be spec’d in any of the 24 million trim combinations. These options offer trillions of possibilities. The extra-long SUV’s features include a heated rear door and central armrests. Power-closing doors are a first for Bentley.
The door cards feature intricate ambient lighting with 12 light-emitting LEDs on each front and 22 on the rear doors. These LEDs shine light through leather perforations measuring one millimeter. EWB gets an exclusive front grille design, 22-inch alloy wheels with polished finishes and a 10-spoke design.
Bentley claims that it needed to create more than 2,500 parts due to all of the body modifications and added features. Some were required for rear-wheel steering. This has reduced the turning circle by 7 percent to 11.8 meters compared with the normal Bentayga, despite its increased length.
The Bentayga EWB comes in four- or five-seat configurations, as well as a new 4+1 layout. It is powered by a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine that produces 542 horsepower and 770 Nm (568lb-ft) respectively. The engine can reach speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h), and reaches maximum speed of 180 mph (295 km/h). Bentley has not yet indicated that it will offer the W12, an extra-long SUV.
Deliveries to customers will begin in the fourth quarter, but only in some markets.
