It is a design that works.
It is amazing to think that the Bentley Bentayga was the first SUV from the automaker five years ago at 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Since then, a lot has happened. The Bentley SUV is a beast and currently sells 13.7 units per day. It is currently awaiting its first facelift. It will likely get a minor visual overhaul, as seen in spy photos taken earlier this month. New renderings by Kleber Silva, artist , show how it would look if Bentley hired Mulliner to refresh the SUV’s mid-cycle. He applied the stunning front end from the Bentley Bacalar to the luxury four-door family car.
The Bacalar was an departure from Bentley’s usual front-end design. It replaced the traditional four-round headlights with only two. Each pair was equipped with a sleek, narrow-slit daytime running lamp. This motif is carried over to the Bentayga renderings. It replaces the four round headlights which are pushed to their edges. The broad, upright mesh grille still looks 100 percent like a Bentley. With a new front fascia, the Bacalar changes the Bentayga’s bumper design. It features a gaping triangular intakes and a new lower fascia. The rear changes are subtler.
Although it is highly unlikely that the front end of the Bacalar on the Bentayga will be redesigned, it is stunning to see. Spy photos reveal some changes to the headlights. However, it appears that the four round ones will be carried over. They may be smaller and lower than the current ones. The current model’s lower fascia will be carried over by Bentley. The hood has two vents, another Bacalar detail that the artist added to the Bentayga.
The refreshed Bentayga should arrive later in the year. However, the coronavirus epidemic has ravaged much of the automotive industry. The exterior will be updated with minor modifications likely inside. Although the current lineup of powertrains will continue, there are rumors that the W12 might see efficiency improvements. Unfortunately, we will not see a Bacalar frontend on it.
