The W12 engine will be tuned to produce more horsepower than the 600 horsepower it currently produces.
Bentley’s first SUV, the W12, was introduced more than two years ago. Since then, there has been an expansion to its product line. An extremely wealthy customer can purchase a Bentayga equipped with a gasoline-fed V8 or another V8 that runs on Devil’s Fuel (a.k.a. a diesel engine, and an electrified V6 version in the Plug-In Hybrid model. Crewe’s luxurious SUV is expanding rapidly. Work is already underway on a second specification.
Stefan Sielaff, the man in charge of design at Bentley has confirmed a faster Bentayga Speed. The performance-oriented SUV was originally revealed back in April 2016. This SUV will be a big change from the W12 model and is currently being developed. Stefan said that the Bentayga will undergo the same changes as a Speed model but didn’t go into too many details.
The biturbo W12 engine of 6.0-liter will be mated to produce 600 horsepower (447 Kilowatts) as well as 664 pound-feet (901 Newton-meters). The Bentayga Speed will be faster in sprinting to 62 mph (100 km/h) than it is currently at 4.1 seconds. The SUV’s meaner variant could reach speeds of 187 mph (301 km/h) which is the same as the W12 Bentayga.
Although it’s not clear when the new SUV range topper will arrive, there are two versions of the V8 gasoline and plug-in hybrid that were launched this year. We’ll probably have to wait at least until 2019. The Flying Spur and the Continental GTC are two other models that Bentley is expected to release before the end the decade. A new Mulsanne is expected to arrive in the 2020s. It might ditch the combustion engine.
