22-inchers are the largest production wheel… anywhere in the world.

The Bentley Bentayga is a magnificent SUV. Mulliner will provide big 22-inch carbon-fiber wheels for the luxury SUV. Bentley says they are the largest carbon-fiber wheels produced for a vehicle and will only be available for the Bentayga.

They weren’t created on a whim. The design and testing of the wheels took five years thanks to Bucci Composites. It’s also coincidental that this was about the same time as the completion of the design and testing process. First Bentayga hits the streets This project seems to have been in the works since the early days of the SUV. TUV testing was performed on the wheels and they were certified. This is a huge deal because it can be difficult to bolt 22-inch carbon fiber wheels onto a 6,000-pound SUV.

Bentley claims that the wheel’s are made using a patent-pending process that includes a layering of weaves that prevents tire blowouts in extreme impacts. TUV tests included everything from tires that were too high to cobblestones and potholes to excessive torque tests. It could refer to driving a three-ton SUV on a track. We don’t know what it means. Bentley mentions that he has conducted test sessions at the Nurburgring.

Carbon fiber wheels are great for large Bentayga vehicles. Carbon fiber wheels can save 13 pounds (6 kg) per wheel. While this is not a significant savings, it does make a difference. Bentley emphasizes the strength and stiffness the wheels offer, which results in a more stable steering platform. The wheels are stronger and more rigid, which leads to better braking performance and less tire wear. However, we believe that the majority of Bentley customers will choose the special wheels because they are unique.

Although price is not mentioned, it’s not surprising. In late 2021, they will be available through Mulliner for purchase.
