Luxury brand will offer 208 NFTs, which also include real-world perks.
Bentley joins other automakers in entering the digital world for Non-Fungible Tokens (or NFTs) as they are commonly called. In an exclusive offering, the luxury brand plans to sell 208 digital artworks in the second half of this year. This is sustainable.
What makes digital art sustainable? It refers to the company Bentley that is involved in this project. Polygon Studios will digitally create the collection using Web3. Although we don’t speak the Metaverse language well, Polygon Studios will digitally mint the special collection on its Etherium scaling platform using Web3.
What exactly are NFTs? This is something Bentley is a bit vague about, and we mean more vague than we normally hear about NFTs. We assume that the photo above shows a Bentley hood ornament against a bright sky. Although 208 NFTs will all be produced, it is not clear if they will all be identical in nature. The number 208 NFTs will be created. Bentley’s fastest production car is able to travel 208 mph. This figure was calculated from the R-Type Continental’s 1952 production run. These tidbits may also play a part in the NFT, but only the buyers will ultimately know the truth.
Alain Favey (member of the board for marketing and sales at Bentley) stated that “Bentley customers live their lives online, buying luxury goods with digital currency and establishing businesses within the Metaverse.” “We have always been there to engage our customers wherever they pursue their passions. Today that means being available in digital marketplaces and offering assets via NFT. We have seen NFTs raise the profile of artists and art, and we believe that the same can be done in luxury automobiles.
Bentley does not mention the cost of NFTs but they will be available by September. Bentley also promises that buyers will receive “exclusive community opportunities, rewards, and unique utilities”. These details will be revealed at a later date.
