About a decade ago, the company had considered making a wagon.
Although it might seem odd to think of a Bentley wagon, it was actually built in 2010. It wasn’t built in Crewe, but the Flying Star was the product of Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. After the long-roof Continental GTC’s appearance at Geneva Motor Show, a VW Group board member stated that a two-door wagon was and therefore. It never happened.
Now, fast forward to May 2020 and Nicolas Cavero (HTMOJ1_ futurecarsnow ) has reintroduced the idea for a Bentley shooting brake. This purely imagined wagon is stunningly beautiful because he knows how to use a digital pencil. Although the image below is a hypothetical rendering, it’s something we would love to see in reality.
We hope that Bentley’s Mulliner bespoke division has a wagon as well, after Zagato transformed Aston Martins into jaw dropping shooting brakes. A Flying B shooting brake with a roofless Bacalar is possible if there’s a market for it. In the future, additional coach-built Mulliner models will likely be available. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that something like this rendering is in the works.
Bentley may have bigger fish to fry. The company recently suggested that the Mulsanne flagship might be replaced by an ultra luxurious SUV, which would be positioned above the already expensive Bentayga. The company’s only SUV could be converted in the future, though that seems unlikely. A release of an EV is planned for 2025. However, the first order is to give Bentayga, the company’s cash cow, a nip-and-tuck.
