Santa should trade magic reindeer in for horsepower
Old Saint Nick must deliver gifts to millions upon millions of children all over the globe. Bentley is determined to make Santa more comfortable this year. He has pictured the Flying-Spur-based Reindeer Eight.
Kris Kringle’s Bentley features a body in the special color Cricket Bauble. This is part of the brand’s Extended Range of hues. The lower half of the body features a diamond pattern in a range of gray colors. Side sills, trunk lid spoiler and rear diffuser are adorned with carbon fiber pieces.
The front end has a gold strip running down its hood, which leads to a 3d-printed ornament on the hood that depicts a reindeer prancing or flying. The animal appears in the lower portion of the front fascia, next to the engine badge. The sedan rides on 22-inch, gold wheels.
The Cricket Bauble color is also used in the interior upholstery. Contrasting stitching in gold is used. Santa’s name can be seen on the driver’s seat. White inlays on the dashboard and door panels depict scenes from North Pole. Bentley’s infotainment system has a special version that displays the nice and naughty lists to help Saint Nick know where to send gifts to good children and boys. Sleigh bells also ring when the driver presses on the engine start button.
The powertrain of the Reindeer 8 is the lingering question. The Flying Spur V8 is powered by a twin-turbo engine from Bentley that produces 542 horsepower (404 kilowatts), and 568 pound-feet (707 Newton-meters). This is enough to allow the model reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.0 seconds. It also has a top speed of 198 mph (318 km/h) . Although this speed is impressive, it doesn’t allow for the delivery of all the presents on Christmas Eve. Santa might be better served by Dasher, Dancer and Prancer, Vixens, Comets, Cupids, Donners, Blitzens, Rudolph, and Vixens to accomplish the important task.
