The Bentley Boys USA announced a new concept car that is based on the 1964 Bentley S3 E. It will be available for sale starting in 2009. It will feature all of BentleyaEUR(tm’s luxury sporty philosophies and a modified 1960s body, paired with 2008 high-tech technology.
We were there, 1964, on a Sunday afternoon driving down the open road. The graphic equalizers on both LCD monitors indicate that the bass guitar is a bit too high in the notes, as can be seen by Nat King Cole’s song “I don’t Want to be Hurt anymore”. The 4.4-litre V8 from German automaker BMW makes it difficult to notice. Cool dual air conditioning keeps heads cool, while leather and suede interiors are built for speed as well as comfort. Huh?
It is a beautiful dream, but technically it is possible thanks to the Bentley Boys USA and Arturo Alonso, an engineer and visionary. They are currently working on a very special machine, based on the 2009 Bentley S3 concept. It will retain the original chassis and body, but some modifications have been made. The 4.4-litre BMW V8 has close to 300 horsepower and is paired with a 5-speed ZF BMW auto transmission. A custom-made stainless-steel exhaust pipe with two rear muffles and double tips was also added. These forged wheels measure 20 X 9.5 inches and have Continental Sport tires wrapped around them.
Alonso and his coworkers will only build three of these unique, exclusive, and rare vehicles. Each vehicle will be built at intervals of eight months, much like three human babies, who are born in succession. If you are interested in knowing more, the asking price is USD150,000 per vehicle. It’s not a problem. Target customers who reside in cash-rich metropolitan cities such as Dubai, Johannesburg and New York City will likely find the value proposition here.
